about
In my sleep and during times of quiet, I often experience things out of the 'ordinary' for most. This song is based on a yellow flower, which was gently swaying in a breeze at the end of my bed one night. I enjoy these experiences, some connect without prior knowledge to other 'spiritual' or 'religious' experiences, which tend to regard them to mean something. It's interesting to me that particular feelings, sounds and sights, though abstract are a shared experience between humans. But the black tar for me represents the cling to these experiences, while missing the 'bright light' that is the ________.
The lyrics have also a meta-meaning, which is better understood than described.
lyrics
Glisten bright a flower, yellow shining light
Black tar of this sight
Glisten bright a yellow shining flower
A Flower, at the foot of my bed.
Black tar of this sight,
I’m staring at the open ground before us.
Sit away from me, sit away but in me
Sit away from me, sit in me
Don’t be denied by the blackening tide
This dark tar of our sight
Glisten bright, bright yellow, luminous flower
Sitting at the foot of my bed
Bright light shining, it’s dying I don’t know where
I must let go of this black tide
This sight, this black tar, black tar of life
That binds me, that binds us, binds all.
Bright light shining, shining on us, on the black tar.
Bright light, shining.
Bright light, a flower at the foot of my bed.
Bright light shining on this…
Bright light shining, shining on us,
Bright light is with us, dark light.
