about
Wind on stone, taken from a moment on Clougha Pike. After running to the trig point I sat behind some grit stone to stay out of the wind. All I could hear was me and the wind on stone. That month I had also been working on meadows, cutting and collecting seed. On my runs in the Howgills and Lakes, I frequently drink from the sweet high springs and streams, while seeing fell horses and domesticated in most parts of my life.
The lyrics have also a meta-meaning, which is better understood than described.
lyrics
Wind on stone, wind on stone
Girl on a horse, it’s cold outside
The meadow is green, the meadow is green girl.
Drink from the stream, drink from the stream
Out on a horse, down by the river
It’s cold outside.
The meadow is green, the meadow is green
Wind on a stone, wind on a stone
The meadow is green, a girl on a horse
Stars align, you catch my side
It’s cold in here, the meadow is green.
Wind on a stone, wind on a stone
The meadow is green, girl on a horse
Wind on a stone.
Just wind on a stone,
Just wind on a stone,
Just wind on a stone.
